Pre-Season Game 1 - Buffalo Bills

Here is the biggest take away from the first pre-season game: no injuries! Scoreboard aside, you always want to walk away healthy.

The starters played two series, scored 7, gave up 3, and created a turnover (which led to the 7 points). Me, from a fans standpoint standing on the outside, was extremely impressed! It wasn't about the score, but just the execution. I was, and still am, a huge Jason Campbell fan. That being said, it's obvious that McNabb makes plays that Campbell probably would not have made.

Brandon Banks needs to make this football team. Bottom line is this, the Redskins lost a lot of games last year by less than a touchdown. A punt/kick returner who can give you field position can set up a score, even if they don't take it to the house. Randle El killed the team in that way! His lack of return ability did not help the offense at all. Even if Banks is not the guy, and I hope he is, they need to find someone who can get positive yards on punt returns!

This defense has the potential to be dangerously good! Carlos Rogers has apparently found his hands again, and that is something that prevented more turnovers in years past. The D line is very good, and the linebackers have depth!

Finally, it is obvious that the best problem on this team is who to cut at running back! With Torain looking like the real deal, the Redskins have four NFL running backs! Niiiiiice! The O line looks strong, and the big fella (Trent Williams) is going to be a force! With the addition of Hicks and Brown, the line is solid!

I previously spoke about the coaching, and again, I think that there are adults running the show who will get the most out of the very talented team!

Hail to the Redskins!

Let's Get it Started

This is a new blog that I'm posting, and it will follow the Washington Redskins throughout the season. During the off season, it will only be updated as news breaks.

For this first post, I want to give my initial thoughts of this 2010 season. First impression? It's nice to have adults running the show! After going to training camp, and watching the first pre-season game, the team looks drastically different! The players are running everywhere, seem more energized, and most importantly, more organized!

My second impression is that the players are real veterans who "get it". Not that this is a big change from years past, but it is truly showing under real leadership. I'm very excited for this season, and my initial thought on a record would be 10-6. Good luck, stay healthy, and Hail to the Redskins!
